2001 aztec "electrical?" problems

I have a 2001 aztec when the engine is cold, it starts just fine. after it warms up, the ignition light on the dash will not come on when you turn on the key. When this happens, it won't turn over at all. It does nothing. After it sits a couple of hours, it works again. Why?

have you checked your battery connections? does anything else work when it wont turn over, radio, headlights etc. ?
