Hey Everyone!

Hopefully someone here has done this..
I’ve had my ‘01 Aztek GT AWD for about 4 years, never once has it been driven. It’s needed a transmission since I got it. We are now moving across the country and we need to get it mobile for easy transport and filling it with stuff to move. I do plan on switching it back later on, but I’m kinda in a pinch lol.

I’m wondering if I could drop a 2WD drivetrain in it and converting it just to get it across the country?

I know there’s a ton of vehicles that would work for interchange. Grand Am, Alero, Rendezvous, Montana, Venture, Silhouette and I’m sure there are some I’m missing. Any advice or help appreciated!

Not sure this would work, it may , but you may need the computer also....couldn't you just get a used AWD trans the same year as yours and use that?

www.car-part.com is a good place to start to find one with low miles and a warranty.👍

I’ve considered it. But I’d like to swap out the engine too (basically the entire drivetrain) and buying just the transmission for upwards of 1k isn’t the way I’d like to do it. Yes, if the transmission was the only thing I was looking for I’d totally just do that and take the east way. The engine should be replaced on mine as well, it’s sat for many years not connected to a transmission inside the engine bay in a really dusty state.
