so the clutch on my car is "intermittently" not disengaging... Master cylinder seems to be working right and is full of fluid... clutch pedal feels the same as it always has and doesn't change when it stops disengaging... clutch isn't slipping at all and when it works it works fine. The problem is that randomly it will just stop disengaging so i can't shift and have to put it in neutral when i stop to keep from killing it.

Also,

it doesn't appear to have any kind of hydraulic leak (although the fluid is terrible looking)... something else that is strange, and may be a coincidence both times it happened i took the cap off the master cylinder to check the fluid levels, replaced the cap, started the car, and it works FINE... but shortly thereafter it starts doing it again.

Take a vise grip and apply it to the rubber hose going from the master to the slave, dont crush the hose you just want it to close. Then step on the clutch pedal and hold it for about 2 minutes. It should barely move and should hold pressure for the full time. If it doesnt hold pressure you have a bad master and should replace it. If it does hold pressure you have a bad slave. It is possible to have both of them need replacing.
