My 2001 Grand Am met misfortune on Sunday night when it went into the ditch. Some minor cosmetic damage, but-of course with this low riding car--more damage underneath: radiator, radiator brackets, tires, alignment.

We are at that fine line point of is it worth it to fix, or do we cut our losses and start fresh. We are leaning towards the cut our losses option and wonder if it is worth it to keep this vehicle to part out?

I purchased it in 2005 with 12,500 miles on it --- still under 100,000 miles on it now......difficult to think about just cutting our losses and starting over, but that may just be what we have to do. Thanks for your suggestions

You dont give many details, which model, options, etc. but the car might be worth 3K. How much is it going to cost you to fix it? Probably better selling it for parts or donating as a tax deduction.

It was due for new brakes and pads -- and needed tires. Close to $2,000.00 for that and the other mechanical repairs -- that does not include anything cosmetic and the trim along passenger side bottom edge is off, and the right front quarter panel has a ripple in it.

It is a 2 door V6 automatic. cloth seats, nothing too fancy, but I am sure not happy it has all this going on!

I wish there was some better options--- but with our deductible, we will be paying for the majority ourselves --- so probably not really worth making the repairs ---

I like the idea of donation --- that may be a really good option that I had not thought of.
