I have a Grand Am that has a couple issues.
1. is that the key can turn in the ignition, but it takes like 40 attempts to actually get it to turn.
2. It has a rather slow acceleration, it reaches fast RPMs fine, but it will slowly accelerate. Is this with all Grand Ams, or do i need to fix/replace something?
3. The E brake doesn't work, I have the car on a slight incline and pulled the E Brake and i still rolled down the incline. It felt like the brake wasn't stopping it at all.
If anyone could answer how I can fix some of these it would be really helpful.
Thanks

1. When you say 40 attempts to turn, do you mean the engine doesnt start?
2. Do you have a check engine light on and if so did you have the codes read. Have you checked if the air filter is clean? How many miles since you changed fuel filter and spark plugs?
3. Did you try adjusting the rear brakes, assuming you have drums?

1. The key itself won't turn for the 40 attempts, the car turns over fine.
2. I just got the car, so I don't know when the air filter, or the spark plugs, or the fuel filter have been cleaned. I have been trying to go through and clean things... right now I've been getting to the O2 sensors because it has been having a rough idle. But no it has not had the check engine light on, and when it was taken in to be looked at, the guy i bought it from said that all they said was that the O2 sensors needed to be changed/cleaned so...
3. I have not adjusted the brakes yet.
Thanks for the help

1. You have only one key? Try spraying some WD40 into the cylinder.
2. If the you dont how many miles on fuel filter and plugs replace, the air filter you can look at.
