2001 Montana with strange sound

When I'm starting the engine I get a strange sound like air leak around A/C pump, not sure what that could be, once the engine is running the sound is gone

Check the exhaustmanifold bolts the two front above the ac comp. It's hard to see if they are broken because of the heat shield you might be able to see with a mirror under the shield.

I agree. It`s a big job and I mean BIG job to replace the studs in the cylinder head. The head has to be removed. On my Montana, both studes were broken on Cylinder 2, All I did instead of taking off the head was removed the manifold (still a big job) and put a new gasket in there with some red RTV/sealant. So far so good....but it`s just temporary I think.

This is fairly common unfortunately as well as cracked manifolds.
