2001 pontiac grand am automatic transmission?

I have a 2.4L SFI DOHC 4cyl and need help with not only checking the transmission fluid but flushing the transmission as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you

pull the dip stick and look at the fluid. if it is any color other than red/pink then it should be changed. if it smells burnt it should be changed.
