This car has recently had the spark plugs, fuel pump, air filter, oil, and oil filter changed/replaced. All fluids are fine. When I first try to start the car, it seems like the engine is trying to start, but won't catch. When I quit trying, wait a few seconds, and turn the key again, the engine will jump to a start, sound really rough, sputter a bit, and then catch.

Suggestions for what to check?
It runs okay after it's started, it's just getting it started that's a pain in the neck. Timing belt is fine. No screeching. Maybe I need a new fuel pressure sensor? Or regulator? I don't know.. Fuel filter was just changed maybe a year and a half ago. Bought a new one just in case, and putting it in tomorrow.

Check the fuel pressure regulator. Pull the vacuum hose off. If there is fuel present, the reg is bad.
