2001 Pontiac Grand Am V6 Rpms jumping at 60-65mph when pressing gas pedal. Rpms jump b/w

2500-2800.? Car's Rpms will erractically jump up and down when on a slight incline. Problem will stop when I take my foot off the gas. Idle fines.
 
The first thing to check would be your fuel filter. How long has it been since you changed it?
Second thing I would check would be the timing belt. These should be changed about every 40,000 miles on most cars. Must be checked by a reputable shop to be sure of getting an accurate diagnosis.
 
Could be the torque converter locking and unlocking. It could be caused by a bad connection or the throttle position sensor could be bad
