My 2001 Pontiac Montana, the ABS light and the traction off light both just came on. Also, the message center says: check traction system. Why?

Hi.
I just started having the same problem. Wierd thing is that sometimes, you can drive all over and the light never comes on, and the next time, it comes on after a couple of breakings. I'm told there's a sensor in the wheel well that may need to be replaced. The regular breaks work fine and this just started after traveling in the rain for a day and having wet weather for a week straight (not sure if that has to do with it).

So, we've had several warm dry days, and no ABS light.....
