My son's girlfriend has a 2001 Sunfire 2.2L engine. In the past few days, she has noticed that the vehicle has been overheating. My son has been replacing the fluid thinking it is coming from the the coolant overflow. Today, we went out to have a look. The cooling fan is working. There is slight bubbling from the front side of the head when the engine is warm, there is also continuous smoke coming from the spark plug areas. Once the engine warms up, there is a continuous collant leaking from somewhere near the engine pulleys so I cannot find where it is leaking. Im thinking that it could be the hoses, metal piping or from the water pump, however there does seem to be pressure in the top hose so the pump may still be working. Any ideas?

sounds like the water pump seal is shot causing the coolant to appear in the area of the pulleys, you need a new pump. You also have a slight head gasket leak and it sounds like you have an oil leak producing the smoke near the spark plugs.
