2001 sunfire aftermarket stereo

I installed a sony explode cd deck without the wiring harness module to save me some money. I read that the only thing thats good for is to keep your door chime intact.. Not sure how true that is now. When driving, if i turn the radio on, on the stereo, all the lights will light up on my dash and all gauges will die. As soon as I turn off the radio everything is back to normal.

I currently have the switched 12v wire running off the wiper fuse because I couldnt find one on the harness. So either this is the issue or I need that dam expensive module. Any ideas? thanks.

You can try contacting the company you purchased the radio from or buy the module. I'm sure it's cheaper than having to repair/replace every component/harness in your car.

I just bought the module for $50 at walmart. Turns out it controls most of your cars componants.. says the guy at future shop. It can actually fry componants in your car if you don't have it.
