Hi there, i’m looking for an advice on how to fix overheating grand am 02 SE 2.2. New radiator, new thermostat, changed water pump twice. Vents working, new temp sensor, new coolant, new CO2 sensors. When running I have to accelerate the motor to reach high revs so the coolant is pushed trough the system to cool down, but minutes after gets overheating again. Top house super hot and low host cold. Not clogged because coolant runs all over the system when forced to reach over 65 MPH. Someone knows what in the hell is going on with this coursed car? Thank you all

When it's running hot is the radiator fan running?
Have you done a cooling system hydrocarbon test?

By a kit at an auto parts store.

Have you tested the thermostat in a pot of water? Suspend it in the pot, slowly bring to a boil. Should start opening when it simmers and fully open at boil.

Yes i had, thermostat works and its OEM from adelco. It seems like coolant stops at thermostat housing, im taking thermostat housing down en check for functionality.

I fixed it by taking the thermostat housing out and cleaned it. Thermostat housing clogged by solids. After been washed out and reinstalled it worked. The car its not overheating any more. Thank you
