not starting? Hi, I have a 2002 Pontiac Grand Am. I have never had any problems starting it before. This morning, the key will not turn in the ignition. The steering wheel is not locked, it is in park, and is not frozen. I don't have the original keys to the car - it only came with copies - when I bought it, but that was two years ago and no problems until today. The wrong key was accidentally put in the ignition this morning, but I don't think that is the problem. Is it the theft deterrant system? Or is it my ignition? Am I missing something?

Could possibly be the ignition lock cylinder they are known to sometimes lock up from wear .. if that is the case you will need to disasemble the steering column to replace the lock cylinder assembly
