I'm looking into buying a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix. The condition on the car is REALLY good, but the mileage is 149,000. is that too high for a Grand Prix or do these cars run for A LOT longer? The price seems really reasonable as well. I went on cars.com and got some research on it, and its got 4.8 stars outta 5...HELPPP!!

A general rule of thumb is around 12,000 miles per year, so that is kind of high mileage. I just traded in my Grand Am( an 03) and it had 49,000 miles on it! Also, Pontiac Grand Ams and Grand Prix's are notorious for rusting out early, so beware.

That is alot of miles especially for an american car. I would stay away from it unless you are getting a sweet deal on it.

I always start shopping for a new car once mine hits the 200,000 mile mark. Thus, I think it's not a good choice. You'll only get 50,000 miles out of it before it starts giving you trouble.
