I just purchased a 2002 Pontiac Sunfire. No CEL or anything when I start the car. I put the car into drive, DRL flickers (~5-7 times) and then goes out and the Service Wrench light comes on and stays on. I also have no high beams!

Don't have a history on the car and it has ~170k miles on it -- but it sounds amazing!

TL;DR
1. DRL Flicker, Low Beams Work, High Beams Do Not Work. Service Wrench after DRL Flicker.

you need to have the car checked for what code is causing the service light to come on. Autozone and others do that at no charge.

Their code reader only pulls codes related to the emissions (CEL), not the service light which is everything BUT emissions as far as I know.

Here is what I've done so far...
Checked the relay - looks fine to me, hard to tell about the internals of course
Headlight bulbs should be fine - the low beams work, and the daytime lights flicker
Wires (except for under the battery tray) have been checked - visual only as I don't have a multimeter.
Headlight connectors look to be new and in excellent condition.

A couple questions...
1. How do I access the wires underneath the battery tray?
2. If I need to remove the battery tray, how do I do that? (got stuck here today)
3. Does this car have a DRL module? Or just the relay?
4. I've read about a resistor located near the headlights, where is that and what does it look like?

P.S. I love pictures.

Thank you for you help so far!

Update:

Removed air box to access the harness underneath the battery tray. Honestly, it looks to be is fairly decent condition... there is corrosion on the connector, but there doesn't appear to be any on the part of the wires that are exposed.

Last of my questions (hopefully) :P

1. How do I disconnect the connector? (can't seem to figure it out, might just be glued together? idk..
2. Where are the grounds located for the headlights?

Thanks in advance!
