This issue started a couple of months ago, but it would happen once first thing in the morning, then it would be fine the rest of the day. Now, it happens everytime I apply the brake, whether its lightly touching, or normal braking.

The problem: if I lightly touch the brake, the back right end drops with a weird grinding sound. If I try to brake normally, the ABS kicks in and the back right end drops significantly and shutters. I have asked a few people that keep telling me that its only because it's wet out that this is happening, but I've driven in wet conditions before without this happening, unless of course I slammed on the brakes.

Can anyone help me solve this issue?

(I checked the ABS light, it comes on at startup, but does not come on when the car is running, so I don't think its a lamp or sensor issue)

Thanks in advance.

Have you or a shop removed the wheel and checked to see if the brake pads are worn out?

Hmm, haven't tried that yet. My brother-in-law is a mechanic and didn't seem to think that's the issue. I'm not too experienced with cars, how do I tell if the brake pad is worn out?

You remove the wheel and look at the pad to see if the lining is worn out and the metal backing plate of the pad is scraping against the rotor. Sounds like you relative should look at the car.

Check your rear brakes. The first time in the morning is probably rusty brakes. I had a Cavi that did that he first time I drove it for the Day.
