Hi, first off yes i have looked at other threads and could not find one similar to my problem. My problem is I'm driving along usually around 30mph at 1000-1500 rpm, and there's this noise coming from the engine bay. it sounds like a tick, chirp combination, and it does this at different speed variables (30mph and decelerating, 65-75 mph) (i never drive it past 75mph unless im passing a big rig or being pushed along by a bigger truck/suv behind me). It also makes a noise when decelerating, kind of like a grind (coming to a stop it sounds like a grind, grind, right as i stop a grriinndd) I'm so sorry this is not descriptive at all. (i actually think i mentioned this in another thread but not in this detail). Its the 2200 ohv,

here is whats new on it so far
cv axles
valve cover gasket
serpentine belt
water pump

Once again sorry if this is a repost from somewhere (i read others that are similar but not similar enough)

It almost sounds like you have two different problems.
The first noise, if you open the hood and have someone else step on the gas bringing the engine speed up to 1,500 RPM, do you hear the noise?
The second one, grinding as you come to a stop, does this happen only when you are braking? If so you need the brakes checked for excessive wear.

no the engine noise only happens when moving

the grinding noise both when coasting below 30mph and braking to a stop

the noise is intermittent sometimes its there and sometimes it goes away

does the engine noise go away if you shift into neutral without braking, if it does, the noise is not from the engine and I would consider a bad wheel bearing.
have you checked your brake pads and rotors?

i haven't tried tried the neutral thing, i will check the rotors/pads soon, i dont have a jack (i dont trust the scissor jack). I have a buddy that i will be borrowing a jack and stands from to then inspect it.

And the brakes were replaced a little over 6000 miles ago

Thank you for your input I will get back when i inspect it

update:

the noise has become so intermittent that its gone away and it's been gone for almost a week now. The city where i live has way too many stop lights and stop signs, so the engine idles for a bit, then has to move the car from 0- ~30mph quite frequently (usually idle to 3000 rpm) and its still not making that noise. And the roads are terrible and very pothole ridden, and bumps, dips, everything to demolish a suspension system in no time flat, and I drive the freeway a little bit (30 miles a week max) and the noise hasn't come back.

any chance you had a rock/pebble stuck in a tire tread and it has now been dislodged? was it a rhythmic noise increasing as the speed went up?

yes it was rhythmic it got faster as i sped up and slowed down wend i slowed down, but that slow grind when coming to a halt would not cause it right? The brakes are relatively new, looking back i replaced them in early 2014, they were faulty pads and were replaced in December of 2014, I don't know about the rotors.

if a brake caliper sticks they could go very quickly you have to pull the wheels off and check them.
