Hey guys, I just bought a 2002 sunfire a few months ago and have had a couple issues with a rough idle and the car stalling every once and awhile.

little bit about the car:
2002
133,000km
automatic
2.2L ecotec engine

The car has had a rough idle since I bought it but I just recently noticed that it stalls every once and while (maybe once or twice a week) sometimes when I shift into reverse, sometimes when a shift into park and one time it stalled when I pulled up to a red light really slowly.

When the car stalls in park it will start off by idling really rough and then just stall out.

A few weeks ago I replaced the plugs because I was thinking it could be a misfire but that didn't seem to help.

If you guys have any suggestions or ideas what it could be that would be awesome or if you need any more information just let me know.

Thanks,
Phil

is the check engine light on? did you have the computer scanned for codes at autozone?

The check engine light was on about a month ago so I had a scan done. The code was po113 so I replaced the air temperature intake sensor and the plugs and that fixed the check engine light problem it hasn't come on since but the car still has a rough idle and stalls.

try cleaning or replacing you IAC, idle air control, valve located on the throttle body. Make sure you check the air passage it mounts to for any carbon buildup and clean if necessary.
