The last two days I've had constant clicking behind where the hazard light switch is. After going through forums last night, it sounds like it's the multi-function switch and the general consensus was to get used to the clicking instead of paying $$$ to fix it. However, on my drive home today there was some faint white smoke coming through the steering column.

Does this still sound like a multi-function switch issue, or something bigger? Would I be okay to take out the Hazard LPS fuse and the Turn LPS fuse, just to get it home without smoking?

You can try pulling fuses but without seeing exactly what the issue is just a guess

that happened to my friend. pop the top cover off of the column, unscrew and unplug the multifunction switch. look on the back and clean the grease off from between the contacts with a knife. then re assemble it. but make sure you look on the front of the switch for the horn contact before you put it back in, you dont want to bend that when you put it back in. your horn will go off every time you turn haha. this was a 2004 grandam gt 3.4l
