My CEL is constantly on and the code is P0113. I had my mechanic look at it last week and they said my Intake Air Temp Sensor was fine so they cleared the code. My light came back on 10 miles later. I took it back yesterday and they tried replacing the sensor and clearing the code to see if it would do the trick and 10 miles later the light came back on. Any idea what could be going on? P0113 is for the intake air temp sensor. I need my emissions test to renew tags and cant pass with a CEL on!

Must be a problem in the connectors or wiring then?

Often is, as opposed to the component being bad.

Note which is listed first here, in order of probability.

P0113

IAT (Intake Air Temp) circuit
– The Intake Air Temperature signal is used as an input for various systems in the vehicle.

Probable Cause

1. Check connector and wiring
2. Sensor open or shorted-replace sensor

I'd check for a good solid 5-volt reference signal, check for a good ground, see what the return signal is back at the PCM while the engine is warming, all while wiggling the wires out in the engine compartment. Check the connectors for corrosion or loss of tension, or damaged weather-pak rubber bellows. Maybe run a voltage drop test on all 3 parts of the circuit. Also could do a continuity check with my latching tester while wiggling the wires with them disconnected. If the wire goes open for even a millisecond, that thing will catch it.
