2003 Pontiac Sunfire GT sticky clutch?

I have a 2003 Pontiac Sunfire GT with a manual transmission. Sometimes when I push in the clutch hard to the floor and release my foot the clutch petal sticks to the floor. To get it unstuck i just have to tap it with my foot but it can be annoying. What might be causing this and how do i fix it? Thanks

This car (2003) is notorious for it's poor-build quality, hence the low price. It was built as an econobox, so quality was not a major focus. Thus, your sticky clutch could be a product of these conditions. And, in fact, edmunds.com reccommends buying a different yet, similar car. If that's the case, then i'm pretty sure other owners of this car have similar problems.

Suggest to check for any external return springs on the clutch pedal being broken or missing.
