My car seems to drive its self. Can anyone help me? It is a 2003 Pontiac Sunfire.
I had to stop my car, it stalled (I guess that’s the proper term, I say it died, it wouldn't go anymore I had to re-start it) it took like three minutes. Than the rpm is normally at like 1200 but it was jumping like 500 rpm at a time, than it did this crazy driving on its own at 2500 rpm, no check engine light comes on (for some reason the workers that have looked at it flip out when I say that) I got into town and it was like fighting me when I was breaking so tried to set the cruise control thinking maybe it would figure itself out... nope the cruise just did what I did and that made the car start jumping around again. so I slip it in neutral thinking maybe it will get better, it revved up like mad and red lined this scared the crap out of me so i slipped it back in drive I had to ride breaks the whole way on the highway to keep it at a steady pace. I made it to my destination and when I tried to start it up again it was just fine.
I’ve had it checked (by a dealer ) twice now in the past week. They can’t find a thing wrong. Any ideas to send me in the right direction would be a blessing.
