2003 sunfire no max a/c ??

Gents,
my daughters 03 sunfire will not energize the outside air door to close, the light does not come on for the recirculate position, all other a/c functions work properly. including fan speed, etc. having no background with these cars, has anyone had this problem?

Probably a motor or connection for that damper.

Thanks, zim, for your reply, it seems that it could be as you suggest, switch has power, and turns on the compressor, but, doesnt turn on the recirc. light.. any idea what part of the dash the door is behind?

the recirc door is in the centre but passenger side
control the air that comes in from the outside vents below wipers
