2004 2.2l head gasket

Ok so i have everything off down to the head bolts...do i have to take the timing chain housing off to take the head off?

since it is an overhead cam engine you are going to have to keep the chains properly aligned when you remove the cams from the head which requires the cover to come off

There should be holes to pin the Sprockets in place.
