Hey all,
I have a 2004 Grandam with the 3.4. The right side motor mount has broken. This is an easy fix although two of the bolts have broken inside the front timing cover. I will have to remove it to get at them. The question is can the front cover come off without having to remove the oil pan? I know that the balancer and such will have to be removed and the bolts holding the cover. Can it just pull forward after this?
Thanks

From looking around the internet many people remove the cover without dropping the pan. Just reassemble with RTV on the mating surface after cleaning it.

You can do it without removing it but if you want you could lower the pan. The pan goes over the subframe so have fun taking it out all the way if you wanted to replace the gasket for instance! Yikes on bolds breaking in the cover.. How did you manage that?
