2004 Grand Am-Won't shift back into Park

I had trouble getting my car to shift Out of park this morning. It finally did after a few minutes but when i returned home, it would Not shift back into park, so therefore the key won't turn to the off position. I have tried everything I can think of with no luck. Any ideas or suggestions?? Please???

You may have a bad shifter cable or linkage. Try lubricating any exposed sections of the cable or linkage.
