My son is looking at buying either a 2004 or 2005 Grand AM SE. Are these units problem units? My Grandfather has a 2002 and just had to redo the gaskets. Is this as common in the 04 or 05? He is buying this car himself so I don't want him to waste what limited funds he has. He just turned 16 and this will be his first car. Am I better off with a 3.8L Grand Prix or a 2.2L Grand Am or Sunfire?
