2004 Pontiac Grand Am check engine light HELP!

I have a 2004 Pontiac Grand V6 Ram air. I recently bought the car and the check engine light has been on two times already. The car has 100,000 miles on it if that matters.. The last time the light was on it was a simple fix it needed Antifreeze fluid. I checked all levels and filled what I thought may have been the problem but it wasnt. I have e check in my county and need this light off soon and problem fixed right D:
