About a week ago i was driving down the street and the Security light came on. Since then the car has started weired takes a bit to start with the auto start feature with the key. one turn and its supposed to start. then it took 2 trys. Today i shut my car off in the drive way of a friends and then after a few mins i tried to start it and nothing. No clicks, just a slight buzz no where near the starter. I tried to hit the starter with a hammer to get it to start as this usually works with bad starters. Nothing happened.

Could this be the passive lock system, ignition switch or the starter its self? Anyone have any ideas? Thanks for your time and ii appricate any help.

Most common problem for a security light and a no start condition is a faulty passlock ignition cylinder. This sends the theft data to the body control module (BCM). After replacement, the theft system will need to be relearned.

It is the starter itself, specifically the solenoid switch. Not a security issue. Take it to Auto Zone for verification. Also, a discharged battery mimics that noise by underpowering the solenoid. A boost would eliminate that issue.
