2004 Pontiac Grand Am won't start. I had the battery and starter checked...

...and both are good.? I can start the car at the solenoid but it will only run for a few seconds and yes the key is turned on.
 
Switch off any security systems installed in your car.
Check whether the fuel pump is working or not. Check the carborator,clean the airfilter. Check the exaust silencer(may be air passage is blocked).
If it is not working then start your car for few seconds like you did before and check whether there is any leakage from the bottom of the car.

when u put the key in and turn it does the security light goes off

do u hear the pump going 2 sec prime

if u have someone to help u
and u have a test light
put the test light led to ground and the other end to the solenoid
turn the key and see if it lights
if it does not light
i would be looking at the ignition switch located in the steering column
