How reliable is this car? I'm a brand new driver (got my permit in May) and I'm purchasing my first vehicle. There is a 2004 Pontiac Sunfire for sale on craigslist. It says on the description that the side panel is missing, due to a side swipe. How much is that repair?? The oil has been properly changed every 3k miles, its in great condition. What's the MPG like on this car, and is it a good first car?? Its a manual btw, and I'll be learning how to drive it when/if i get it.

Trust me as a mechanic of 11 years i can tell you don't touch it run away, any GM dodge, or ford (expecialy entry level cars) find an older higher mileage honda, toyota, or even nissan do a tune up on them cap rotors wires, and maybe eventualy replace a starter or battery otherwise you wont have any problems trust me you will thank me later.

word of advice always take any car your looking at buying to get an inspection figure around 15 bucks from a ASE certified mechanic (not dealership) its worth making a car cost 3,015 overall rather then buying a 3,000 dollar paper weight.
