2004 Pontiac sunfire 2.2L ECOTEC
Engine turns over but car doesn't start. Battery, starter, fuel pump are all functional. Brought to the mechanic. All four cylinders aren't firing. He changed the ignition module. Car works for the rest of the day. Try to go to work the next day. But again try to start the car, engine turns over but doesn't start. I'm thinking timing chain...any other less drastic options? Thanks.

Well if changing the ignition module solved the issue the first time why are you jumping to the conclusion about a timing chain? It wouldnt be the first time a new module failed. When the engine was running was there any unusal noise? Did you test for spark? Did you do a fuel pressure test? When the engine was running was the check engine light on?

I agree with melgs5. Sounds like the module died again. Check for warranty.
