I am getting around 29-31mpg on all highway, but in the city i only get around 18-19mpg. It is short distance with lots of lights. Is this normal mpg for these cars?

Anyone? I just want something to compare too. 18mpg city and 31mpg for highway seems kinda low for a 2.2 ecotec.

Yes that is normal mileage but it is highly dependent on how aggressively you drive in city traffic

Thanks, I just figured a 4 cylinder would get better mpg. Like I said though highway mileage is great.

just checked the mileage on the GF's 2000 sunfire.went 520km on 49.2L,all city driving. auto with air on whole time.thats apx.28plus/city.i know the imperial gallon is a little larger than the american gallon.but it would seem that 18 or so city is alittle low.i drove the speed limit most of the time but didn't baby it too much.food for thought anyhow.hope this helps.
