My sister just drove her 04 sunfire from tx to ga. she explained some problems that sounded like her alternator went out. when i checked it out it looks like the tensioner needs to be replaced. my question is: how do I replace it? please tell me the engine doesnt have to be pulled. it looks like a tight space. thanks in advance.

It is a tight fit and no you dont need to pull the motor. First remove the belt if you havnt done so yet. Then you should see a mounting bolt top center of the tensioner. Remove the mounting bolt and pull the tensioner straight forward then up. Reverse steps to install new tensioner.
