2004 Sunfire Trunk Latch

My trunk will not latch. It stays in the open postion. I have a auto release button. Is there anyway to fix it or should i just get a new one?

Also woud anyone know the Part Number for the Latch??

the latch is probably just bent. i had a 96 grand am that did the exact same thing and they are pretty much the same car. As stupid as it sounds, just get in the trunk with a flashlight and have someone outside of it with the key to let you out. have them slowly shut trunk and just watch the latch as it tries to shut, it should have be bent back or forward just a little bit.
