Please help - ideas to fix? Driver side goes down fine, but it's a gamble whether it will go back up. Have gotten it up with physical coaxing. It's like power just not getting to it. Passenger side goes down about 2.5 inches before it stops and makes a grinding noise. Goes back up fine til it reaches the top and grinds again. Might the drivers side be just a fuse?? (hope) Can I fix the passenger myself do you think? Dealer estimated $900+ to fix both sight unseen - ain't happening. I appreciate your advice!!!

remove the door panel and see what is causing the problem

My passenger side window motor was broken so I replaced it, after I installed in the new motor it still wasn't going down. It would only go down about 1-2 inches then stop, so I thought it was the regulator so I bought a new one online. Turns out all I needed was to spray the window tracks with a can of Silicone Spray.

Remove the door panel, if you need a new motor or regulator, I found that http://www.am-autoparts.com/ is the cheapest place to get them, if you need two new motors and regulators then it should be less then 100 bucks on that site with free shipping. If you do it properly, replacing them should only take about 30 minutes or so, and it's real easy.
