The horn on my 2005 Grand Am has become stuck and constantly blares. You can actually make it stop by pressing on the steering wheel (opposite of the way it's intended to work). I swapped out fuses and relays to no avail. My understanding is that the problem is going to be the horn pad or ring in the steering wheel. Does anyone know if this is something I can safely and easily fix?

Not sure how easy it would be for you to do. I'm pretty sure it would involve removal of the airbag, and steering wheel. You have to remove the fuses and disconnect the wiring harness for it before trying to remove it to prevent accidental deployment. The steering wheel would require the use of a puller to get it off the column.

Does anybody know where I can find which wire in the steering column goes to the horn pad switch? I would like to cut it so I can take it out of the circuit to verify if that is the problem or not. If it is, then I will wire up an external switch to that wire.
