2005 Grand Prix GT- driver heated seat not working

Anyone have any idea or suggestion as to why my passenger seat will heat but driver one will not? I have heard something about fuses, are there fuses for this, or what could be the problem? Any help or ideas would be appreciated. :D
 
There is one fuse controlling both seats located in the fuse box at the end of the dashboard passenger side. Check for brokern wires under the seat.
 
Fuses seem to be fine and my husband sees no wires under seat. I dunno... maybe I should take to dealer. Just trying to see if there is something easy we can do. :confused:
 
Other than fuses if you have no diagnostic/repair skills time for a trip to the shop.

Most likely there is a broken wire in the seat cover. It may have to be replaced. Not an uncomon issue.
 
I do have another create and did create a seperate post.

HELP! Dealership can't figure out either. They are calling GM and getting back to me Monday.

None of us see ANYWHERE in the DIC to ENABLE remote start. When using a newly programmed remote, on the DIC it says "remote start disabled"...okayyyy, well how and where do we ENABLE it???
 
Did you have remote start from the factory or you just bought a remote with the start button on it?

It is factory. I have had car about 1 month. I got a new remote and got it reprogrammed cause last remote wasn't working. Well the lock button wasn't working.

I have had car about 1 month and noticed remote start was not working. Got remote tested and they said lock button wasn't working (and I need to push that before pushing remote start button).
I bought a new remote and had it reprogrammed, they tried it at dealership and it DOES now lock my door, but when the remote start button is pushed, the DIC says REMOTE START DISABLED.
No one at dealership knew how to ENABLE it, there is nowhere in DIC stating to ENABLE it.
Manual says: The remote start feature will not operate if the key is in
the ignition, a door is open or the hood is not closed.
The remote start feature will not operate if there is
an emission control system malfunction. If a remote start is attempted and unsuccessful, the Driver Information Center (DIC) will display REMOTE
START DISABLED.
Everything seems to be fine unless I have a emission control system malfunction. I guess I will have to somehow find that out.

I'm sorry to hear about the problems you are encountering with your remote start. Which dealership did you go to for a diagnosis? If possible can you also provide me with your VIN as well?

just to clarify, the user, GM Customer Service, is a real employee of GM so dont hesitate to communicate with them.

I have seen in manual how it says to enable or at least where to go to enable but the problem is it is NOT showing up in the DIC like it is suppose be. NO WHERE in the DIC does it say anything about ENABLING REMOTE START. It surely says it's disabled but we cannot figure out HOW to enable it or WHERE.

I have read from other people if the CEL is on, or if a door or hood etc... is open it could prevent it from not working. Well I don't have any of these issues. Getting frustrated. :(
 
if the dealer reprogrammed the remote why arent they helping you now?
