2005 Montana sv6 - diff blew up while driving

Ok boys. Mother of all troubles is here again.
Drove out in the morning. Something snapped under the hood, car started to shake like crazy. Flood of ATF on the road and some metal pieces under the car.

Differential cover torn apart form tranny

Tranny was "rebuilt" in Nov 2014. Warranty 1 year or 20,000 km.

Spoke with that clown Malcolm. He tried to say that diff got nothing to do with tranny. Introduced word "transaxle" to him...
According to Invoice there is remanufactured transmission. Now he tries to use word "rebuilt". Says that the diff was fine and they didnt do anything to it. Harassing him meanwhile. Hope we can settle that without lawsuit. My girlfriend dealt with him initially in 2014. So now I had to ground him a bit...
Montana is just a magnet for troubles.

BTW Is it true that REMAN trannies come with 3 year warranty? That is what i read on the internets...

Sorry to see the bad luck you are having. The length of warranty is up to the company that performed the service. I see nothing on the invoice mentioning the warranty. Let us know how you make out.

Yup, that's a spider gear. Technically it's a transAXLE.

Back of the Invoice with warranty info. So it is 12 month or 20,000km.
BTW they didn't put mileage on Invoice (KMS IN, under vehicle info)

So car has 269,700 on ODO. It made it that far with the original differential.
