2005 pontiac grand am amp install??!?!!? Need help!! (power wire route)?

Okay so i'm installing my subs into my new car and i have no idea where to run the power wire through the firewall... i was looking at that gormet just above the fuse box but it just seems to go to a empty space between the cabin and the engine bay, i couldnt see much but its also exposed to these vents that are exposed just below the wipers and so water can get in there and i dont know if it would be wise to run this wire where water could get to... So i really could use some help here. Please dont just reply with look for a rubber gormet and run it through there i know this... i've done this before i need a more specific answer from another pontiac owner or someone who knows where exactly to run the power wire through....
I saw on another site ppl running wires though that area by the break pedal but when i looked there i didnt see any whole and i took the carpet out... Would it harm anything if i did run it through the door jam?

also where is a good amp ground location in the trunk?

my saturn's is basically directly under/behind the break peddle pull down the carpet on the driver side and you might find it there...not a pontiac owner but still gm...so it might help....just glad to hear you're not running it through the door jam

Look low on the firewall/floor area, at the front of the passenger footwell.
