The pontiac sunfire is the same platform as the chevy cavalier/cobalt and there are a ton of those around. They all have there draw backs. The 2.2L 4cyl. is prone for head gasket problems, but is inexpensive to maintain and problems are simple to diagnose. The 2.4L 4cyl. is a well built engine, but is expensive to maintain and more difficult to diagnose problems, especially in the ignition system.
