Hello, the blower on this car will only work on high and occasionally won't work at all. I have replaced the Switch, Resistor block, and Relay with no luck. I'm getting 12V to the switch (I think it was a blue/white wire. #6 on the harness.) I can't understand the wiring diagram well enough to measure voltage correctly anywhere else. I'm lost on what to do next.

Oddly, the AC quit working a couple days ago, but I believe that the problem with it is the compressor clutch as I'm getting 12V at the compressor clutch harness. (The blower still works on high, but I get no cold air.)

Does anyone have any ideas on what I can try next and what voltage should be at different points if the switch is ok?

Thanks for any help.

Melted Connector

I also had this issue. Blower would only run intermittently and then would only run on high. I replaced the resistor, which fixed the issue of only working on high, but still had an intermittent inop condition.

Dug further, removed harness, and found the connector had overheated and melted, which wouldn't allow good contact with the motor. I haven't seen the wiring diagram, so I don't know if it was possible that it was somehow getting electricity with the resistor out. Regardless, it shouldn't have overheated to the point of melting. This is a faulty design and shouldn't be a possibility.

Mine always seemed fine when I went to test it. Checked the contacts on the motor and there was power, only discovered it when fully removed the connector. Mine melted at the motor, possibly yours could have melted elsewhere.

Been trying to find just the connector so I don't have to buy the 40$ harness, but with no luck.

Bad connector

Thanks. It did turn out to be the connector. (at the resistor) The AC problem was the compressor clutch coil. Just happened to be two unrelated problems which began at pretty close to the same time. I guess that's the GM showing itself on this Toyota/Pontiac. ;)

How much these connectors costs? I think I am having same issue.
