I had noise and thumping from rear of vehicle; thought it was wheel bearings - it wasn't. Replaced both rear wheel bearing and hub assemblies, about $250 total, but didn't actually need replacing (I had replaced them only a relatively short while back, maybe a year). So, discovered that it was the rear tire cupping instead. Question: I never replaced the rear shocks (already replaced the front strut units and they're fine). So, will replacing the rear shocks solve the rear tire cupping?
