2006 Pontiac Torrent

Hi
I have a 2006 Pontiac Torrent lights were left on and battery went dead
had the vehicle jump started and started and ran fine but came to start it the next day and the security system would not shut off.
I had to remove the horn relay as this would not shut off and the lights keep flashing for about 90 seconds then eventually stop and now this happens every time the vehicle is started and the horn would be going as well if the fuse was put back in
The radio fuse had been out prior to all this happening as it was not functioning properly and was operating when the key was off
I did replace the replace the radio fuse but made no difference to the problem.....

You make no mention as to whether you are disarming the system with the key fob before opening the door, are you doing this? Did you read page 2-13 in the owners manual concerning the different methods to program the system with the key fob?

yes disarming with key fob but had to use the key to gain entry when the battery went dead so maybe this must have something to do with it

so does the FOB still work, does it lock and arm the system and unlock and disarm the system?
