2006 Torrent AWD

I have a 2006 Torrent AWD, we purchased the car new and its been a great car. Notice a weird noise last winter and now again this fall, we had a little snow, so when I step on the gas and the AWD kicks in, there is a funny sound from under the car. Its now a grinding noise, makes a EERRRRR sound (LOL) and when you let off the gas it goes away, the AWD is kicking in fine, just the weird sound.. Any ideas ?

Your hesitancy to have it checked last winter and the fact that it is getting worse could lead to an expensive repair. Diagnosing something like this over the internet is not a good idea. Take it to a dealer or private shop to have it checked before the AWD completely fails.

Its going into the dealership Thursday, it only makes the sound when the AWD is working, don't drive it much
