This is the first real problem I had in six years of ownership, figures it would happen the month after it's paid off...

After work today, My 2007 Montana SV6 would not start. The dash lights flashed, the horn honked, the security light did not come on, and the van would not turn over (start). It has been raining hard all day and I used the car twice before the failure. I tried 2 different keys, thinking it might have something to do with the Passkey 3 Anti-theft.

Would unhooking the battery for 10-15 minutes solve anything? Has anyone heard of or had this issue before? Is there anyway to bypass the anti-theft doo-hickey?

so you have a "no crank" problem? easiest thing to check is the battery did you try jumping it , even though all the other stuff works but you never know . The battery may still have enough juice for the horn and lights but not enough to turn over the engine. and it would not hurt anything if you would disconnect the battery. if the battery checks out good then I would be looking at the starter, most auto parts stores can/will check your battery and starter for free but you have to take them off the van. good luck keep us posted.

Woke up this morning with the same problem after the van set for a few days. Horn blew, door locks went nuts and starter not turning over. I put a charger on for 1/2 hour and it started . New battery going in tomorrow.

Yes if you don't have good ~12v then the computers and electronics go nuts. And we thought these new cars were better than the old ones. Haha.

Bocephus,

Have you had a chance to put your new battery in yet? Let us know if your concern has been resolved or if you need further assistance.
