2007 torrent HORN blows unlocking the vehicle

Everytime I go to unlock my torrent with a key ( not fob) the horns blows continually until i start the car. How do I stop this from happening? It is driving me nuts.

I don't need this stupid safety if that's what it is supposed to be. My neighbors are gonna kill me if I can't stop this lol.

I can see on my dash where it says " learn remote key press (checkmark) to begin". So i press the checkmark but nothing happens. It just reads the same thing on the dash after pressing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated in stopping the horning from going off everytime i want to get into my locked car.

I do not have fobs. I only have original keys.

The manual doesn't address this that I can see.

Did you just buy this vehicle?
When you leave the vehicle what are you doing to lock the door?

Yes I did. I lock with the lock doors button on the door and have tried locking with the key from the outside. Both ways lock all the doors but unlocking and opening the door always results in the horn blowing.

The previous owner isn't available to answer why the car is doing this?
The previous owner doesn't have the key fob?
It appears the car expects a key fob. Read page 199.

You may want to get a fob and program it for your vehicle.
