Dear friends,
I am a first timer on this site. I have owned nothing but new Pontiacs and GMC trucks since my first GTO in 64. My current and last Pontiac is a 2008 Torrent. I love driving it, but the last two years, nothing but headaches.
It started out with little things so I took it to my local mech. and he determined that the Body control module was bad. We had it rebuild from some outfit in Jacksonville. Ran like a top for 10 months then started acting weird again.
Here is what happens. First start-up, purrs like a kitten. After a half hour, the turn signals don't work, the wipers work but not the washers. When I shut the car off and open the door, the radio stays on. Sometimes while driving, the dome lights stay on or the door ajar light comes on.
Here is the kicker!! I accidentally discovered that if I push the door lock once or twice, everything resets and works one time.
This is way over my head!! Is the BCM common to all these maladies? Should I replace it with a new one this time?
Any ideas will be appreciated.
