2009 torrent gxp ticking

I have ticking coming from which seem like the r/s of the engine. I was driving normal engine was not under heavy load. It started ok about a km later started hearing the ticking noise.

3.6l VVT 41000 km on it Running synethic oil. oil level is good and the engine temperature was normal

no codes

Just to throw it out there I had just changed the Gas cap because I was getting the po455 code for emissions tighten fuel cap

when you state r/s Im assuming you mean the passenger side. It could be from the serpentine belt. Try lightly spraying some water on the belt as it turns to see if the noise changes. It also could be from the timing cover. Use a short piece of rubber hose and hold one end against the timing cover and the other end against your ear to determine of the noise is coming from the cover or elsewhere on the engine.

I hear that the timing chain and guides have been issue on these units> has anyone had this issue what they did and cost's ?
